It Looked Familiar, Part 4

The first three entries in this occasional series – matching comic-book backgrounds to actual locations in New York – have been sites that were used incidentally, not because they had any relation to the comics’ plots. The picture above has such a connection and it frankly feels like I’m cheating.

That’s part of a page from a Daredevil comic, and it shows people protesting about a trial outside the Criminal Courts Building, AKA The Tombs. In other words, the artist used the actual location where such a thing would happen in real life, which is the polar opposite of the random use of some piece of NYC streetscape that marked the other examples.
